Helen Keller – A Life Nearly Lost

Helen Keller emerges from a worlds of silent darkness to become a living symbol of hope.  Douglas County Historical Society’s History Theatre brings her story to life on stage in “Helen Keller-A Life Nearly Lost”, Sunday, October 16th at 2:00 PM.

In this one-woman show, Jessica Michna of Racine, Wisconsin, who appeared as Eleanor Roosevelt earlier this year at DCHS, returns as Keller.  Unable to see or hear since infancy, Helen Keller became a world-famous author and lecturer and advocate for Women’s and Worker’s rights.

Social Studies teacher Kyle Smith at Superior High School and Ben Peters at Harbor City International School have recommended this play to their students.
