Jon joined the staff as Business Manager after almost 6 years of service on the Board of Trustees.

Self-employed owner of Winter Systems Computers since 1988. Jon is also a member of the Superior/Douglas County Chamber of Commerce.  His great grandparents John(Adam) Winter and Alvina Winter moved to Superior with their growing family in 1902.  In April of 1903 Jon’s Grandfather was born William G. Winter.  William Winter would later be an owner of Saratoga Cab Company from 1933 to 1970.

Jon’s love for local history started first stated in the 4th grade with the textbook Exploring Wisconsin and later in 8th grade in John Gidley’s American History class at Central Jr. High. Mr. Gidley included local history in the classroom curriculum.

Jon joined the DCHS Board in January of 2013 and became Board President in May of that year, serving until May of 2017. Jon served as DCHS Board of Trustees – Treasurer from May 2017 to December 31, 2018.
